Every day we go into battle with environmental factors such as excessive central heating or air conditioning, exhaust fumes, dust, dirt and stress which negatively affect the health of our skin. Our lifestyles are often mirrored in our complexion. The Urban Veda range has been formulated using natural ingredients and the principles of Ayurveda in a relevant way for 21st century skin care complaints to ‘pollution proof’ skin leaving it less vulnerable to the environment.
We believe the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda fits seamlessly into a modern 21st century lifestyle. But unlike so many things in the modern world, Ayurveda doesn’t believe just in the quick fix. Naturally formulated using Ayurvedic herbs, roots, flowers and fruits, combined with multi-vitamins and clinically proven actives, Urban Veda helps to maintain skin’s natural balance by infusing it with Omega-rich bio-oils, free radical-fighting antioxidants and vitality-boosting essential fatty acids.
We use over 200 botanical extracts across our 4 ranges of skincare. Our key ranges help to harmonise environmental factors, to purify, soothe, revive and add radiance.

Carbon Offsetting.
In 2021, we became a carbon negative workforce, offsetting all our employees’ emissions, and started to offset all carbon emissions for our deliveries & transport through our partnership with Selva. Now with every online order, we also plant a tree.

We don’t test on Animals.
All of our products are certified Vegan and Cruelty Free by Peta, the Leaping Bunny, and the Vegetarian Society. We have never and will never use animal byproducts in any of our skincare formulations.
We are Certified.
In addition to being certified Vegan, Carbon Negative and Cruelty Free, many of our products are certified COSMOS Natural. We are steadily moving closer and closer towards complete natural certification.
Ecological skincare.
Being a plant-based business, the environment has always been important to us. By supporting the growth of rare and wild-harvested plant species, Urban Veda stands for biodiversity in our efforts to bring Ayurveda to the West. We do this with integrity, respect for the planet, and generations of traditional knowledge.
We care about the Oceans.
Each month we donate 5% from the proceeds of our online sales to our charity partner Ocean Generation who work to restore a sustainable relationship between humanity and the ocean, and campaign against plastic pollution.
Zero waste.
We provide a selection of plastic free tools and accessories on our website, including a pure copper Ayurveda tongue cleaner, a vegan body brush made from responsibly-sourced Walnut wood and cactus fibre bristles, and certified organic dual-sided muslin cloths.
We care about Waste.
We collaborate with Wastecare and accept any and all empties and hard-to-recycle (such as pumps and pipettes) componentry from any skincare brand. With our recycling initiative you can send in your skincare empties, from any skincare brand, and we will ensure they are successfully recycled. Belief in the value of nature means valuing plants as nature intended – all of our products are free from Genetically Modified ingredients, and none contain SLS/SLES, Parabens, Phthalates, Silicones, GM ingredients, Mineral Oil/paraffinum liquidum, animal derivatives, Methylchloroisothiazolinone (MCI), methylisothiazolinone (MI), Artificial colours, Propylene glycol, MEA/DEA/TEA, Triclosan, EDTA, or Microbeads.
We believe what’s on the outside counts too.
We use PCR (post-consumer recycled) plastics, FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) card and cartons, vegetable inks, recycled and recyclable materials. Our Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) plastic bottles are 100% recyclable, and all of our paper, card and cartons are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and printed using vegetable inks. This means they are not only recyclable, but readily biodegradable. Our vegetable inks are made from Linseed (Flax), Castor, Canola, Safflower, Soybeans, Corn oil, or other vegetable-based oils. Recycling is like Karma, what goes around comes around.
